'I don't want to rape you': attacker

A violent rapist who told one victim he didn't want to rape her but she'd been coming on to him, got into his three victims' homes after answering their classified ads seeking a housemate.
Colin Henderson, a father of three daughters, arranged to meet with the women under the guise of a house inspection in 1981, 1982 and 1984, then brutally raped them, a court has heard.
The 64-year-old was extradited from the UK to Australia last year to face six historic sex charges, to which he pleaded guilty in the Victorian County Court on Friday.
He has admitted four counts of aggravated rape, one count of indecent rape and one count of aggravated rape.
One victim, then 30, had put off the meeting several times after feeling Henderson was overly familiar when he called to arrange to view the South Melbourne room, the Victorian County Court has heard.
After inspecting the house and having a few drinks, Henderson asked the woman if he could spend the night because he was too drunk to drive.
He then attacked her, saying: "If you don't shut up, I'll shut you up for good", the crown says.
He punched her in the head, pulled her hair, demanded she put her tongue in his mouth then raped her, prosecutor Kieran Gilligan said.
Afterwards he made her clean his penis, then said "no hard feelings" and told her: "I didn't want to have to rape you but you were coming on hot and cold all night", the court heard.
In another case he held a knife to the victim's neck after she rebuffed his advances.
He told her: "Keep quiet or those could be your last words."
The third victim was also threatened with a knife and repeatedly raped while her young son slept in a nearby room, according to the agreed summary of facts.
One victim told the court the attack left her feeling ashamed and it took her a long time to realise she was the victim.
"I was so angry with myself for being so naive," the woman said in a victim impact statement.
Defence barrister Benjamin Lindner said Henderson admits the offending but doesn't remember it.
"His offending behaviour is so repugnant to him he has repressed the memories to cope with them," Mr Lindner said.
Henderson has no prior convictions of any type and no subsequent matters that involve sexual offending, the court heard.
Mr Lindner submitted he had good prospects of rehabilitation.
Henderson was married and had three young daughters at the time of the attacks, the court heard.
Judge Paul Lacava will sentence Henderson on a date to be set.
