Students told to remain true to values and principles

It was a glittering evening of celebration and joyful reflection as the students of the ‘Class of 2016,’ graduated from the portals of National Public School, H.S.R. Layout, Bengaluru, in an elegant ceremony. Senapathy ‘Kris’ Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys, was the chief guest. Chairman K. P. Gopalkrishna, in his speech, reminded students of the pivotal position of the family in their lives, and asked them to remain true to values and principles in the quest for professional success. Director of NPS Group of Schools, Bindu Hari, urged students to work with dedication and strive for perfection in all endeavours. The declaration address was delivered by school principal Shefali Tyagi.

Graduation ceremony

Sherwood High, Bengaluru, bid adieu to the first batch of Class 10 students at the graduation ceremony. Retired Major General K.S. Venugopal delivered the keynote address. He spoke about the importance of positivity and cultivating resilient attitude. The aspirations of the graduands were encapsulated in a peppy video. The candlelight ceremony was initiated by the guests. Chairman, Rihan Nawab, principal Agnes Davies and members of the school board of management were present.

Farewell function

It was that time of the year again when New Horizon Public School, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, bid adieu to yet another batch of Class 10 students. It was a fun filled evening, with the students carrying with them a bag full of memories to cherish.

Visit to Kolkata

It was a memorable experience for the Under-15 football team of Jain International Residential School, Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru, as the team visited Kolkata to play a series of matches against local schools, club and academy sides. The team played four matches at various grounds. They also witnessed an I-League game and were also taken on a exposure tour to AIFF Grounds at Barasat and Kalyani.

Kala Parva 2016

The release of the sixth edition of the school magazine ‘Vidyashree’ was part of the annual day celebrations at Siddaganga Public School, Chandra Layout, Bengaluru. Students presented a cultural programme on the theme ‘Kala Parva.’ Students presented devotional songs on Shivakumara Swami. K.S. Sathyamurthy, Commissioner, Department of Public Instructions, was the chief guest. L. Revanasiddaiah, president of the school and Hamsa, principal, were present.

Annual day

Kendriya Vidyalaya (M.G. Railway Colony), Bengaluru, celebrated its annual day recently. Sanjiv Agarwal, Divisional Manager, South Western Railways, was the chief guest. Monika Agarwal gave away prizes to meritorious students. School principal J.A. Padmanabhan presented the annual report. The students presented a variety of entertainment programme.

Awareness programme

A one-day awareness programme on alcoholism, tobacco consumption, drug addiction and child abuse was held at St. Mary’s English Medium School, Kannarpady, Udupi. Resource persons from Dr A.V. Baliga Hospital, Doddanagudde, conducted the programme. Annamalai, Superintendent of Police, Udupi, was the chief guest. P.V. Bhandary, psychiatrist and social activist spoke and said that there was great need to enlighten schoolchildren and channelise their collective efforts against the various forms of addictions and abuses. School principal Myrtle L.F. Lewis was present.

Sarthaka Sambhrama 6

Students of Bapuji International School, Badagandi, Bagalkot, celebrated their annual day ‘Sarthaka Sambhrama 6’ recently.

‘Hosa chiguru, hale beru’ was the theme of the cultural programme and students presented a blend of dance drama, folk dance and skits. Lt. Gen. (retd.)

Ramesh Halgali was the chief guest. S.R. Patil, chairman, S.R. Patil Education Foundation, spoke on the need of value education.

Educationist Gururaj Karajgi, secretary of the institution S.S. Hallur and Bapuji International School principal Gayatri Kulkarni were present.
