Jayaram to try a hand at action in his next
Jayaram is all set to try his hand at the action genre, in director Diphan's next. The actor has been signed on for the movie, which is written by A K Sajan, director of Mammootty's Puthiya Niyamam.
Confirming the news, Diphan says, 'It's an action film and we are planning to begin the shoot be end of February. Apart from Jayaram, Nassar is also part of the movie.
The rest of the cast and the movie's title will be announced soon.'
Jayaram is apparently chuffed to be part of the flick. 'I haven't done a full-length action film like this in my career. So, that's something new for me and I am looking forward to that. While I can't reveal much about my character in the movie, it is different from what I have done so far.'
While Diphan's last release was The Dolphins, he is known for his action flicks including Puthiya Mukham and Hero, both of which had Prithviraj in the lead. Puthiya Mukham was instrumental in giving the star a new lease of life at a pivotal point of his career. With Jayaram too having a lean spell in the box office in the last few years, the upcoming movie could change his fortunes.
Jayaram is currently shooting in Thenkasi for a horror-comedy Aadupuliyattam. The movie, which is set in two time periods, also has Om Puri and Ramya Krishnan playing important characters.
