Cops on growth mission in 2 Maoist-hit villages

Aurangabad: The district police in association with CRPF and CoBRA battalion have come to the rescue of people in Maoist-hit villages of the district. After different welfare schemes launched by successive governments failed to reach these villages, the security personnel have taken it upon themselves to change lives of poor villagers.
The security personnel have installed two hand pumps at Langurahi and Pachrukhiya villages under Madanpur block.
The villages have been converted into a police fortress as part of anti-Maoist operations. It was like a dream come true for the locals as they can now get safe and pure drinking water. A 10-km motorable road has also been constructed by the security personnel in the area.
The whole work is being monitored by Aurangabad SP Babu Ram, who has been engaged in anti-Maoist operation in the area. The construction works began on Tuesday as the police team reached Langurahi village to organise a health camp. It was at this camp that the police promised to install hand pumps and construct road.
"Within no time, earthmovers and other equipment reached the two villages and the work started. We are happy that today we have a source of potable water and a road," said a villager praising efforts of policemen.
Lauding the initiative of the policemen, Suresh Singh Bhokta, a villager said police have shown their face of humanity by reaching out to them. "Earlier, police used to visit our villages only to conduct anti-Maoist operations," he said.
The SP said they were using development as another weapon to defeat the Maoists.
