The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is once again the recipient of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its 2014 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award for the 21st consecutive year. This speaks to the RTA and the Service Boards’ commitment to providing financials that meet the highest standards of communication and accountability to the public,” said RTA executive director Leanne Redden.

The award illustrates the RTA's long-term commitment to meeting the highest principles of producing a CAFR. The GFOA rated the RTA's 2014 CAFR “proficient” in 17 categories which qualifies the regional financial report to be an example for others throughout North America. In addition, the RTA’s Controller’s Division received a Certificate of Recognition for its role as the division responsible for receiving this award.

The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving nearly 18,000 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is the only national awards program in governmental financial reporting.
