TUTICORIN: Sleuths of the Department of Revenue Intelligence on Thursday seized 11.993kg of gold biscuits from a warehouse near Tuticorin port on Thursday. They arrested four men in connection with this.
Based on a tip off that gold had been smuggled from Malaysia and a gang from Ramanathpuram district was involved in it, DRI conducted a raid at a warehouse.

They found gold bars in a container. The gold bars were hidden in detergent powder packets.
There were 12 gold bars weighing each 1kg each. The total value of the seized gold bars is Rs 3.43 crore.
In addition to this, the officials also seized 40 cartons Indonesian cigarettes, worth Rs 40 lakh, from the warehouse.
Four men -- Mohammed Rabeek, A Selvaraj, Raju and Rahmat Ali -- were arrested and produced before the court on charges of offences committed under the Customs Act, 1962.
