A 50-year-old trader died of heart attack during a verbal spat with police in Rajpardi village, some 30km from Bharuch on Wednesday morning.

Surat: A 50-year-old trader died of heart attack during a verbal spat with police in Rajpardi village, some 30km from Bharuch on Wednesday morning.
Police and a group of local traders were sparring over condition of an eight-km stretch of road from Rajpardi to Bhalod. Eye witnesses said that the trader and president of the traders' association, Kishore Shah, fell down during some pushing and shoving that happened during their representation to the police.
He suffered a massive heart attack and died on the spot.
Sources said that there are large number of stones and boulders on a two-km portion of the road, which is causing lot of hindarance in commuting.
On Wednesday morning, when a police van passing on the road was unable to move, cops asked the traders to remove the stones. They, however, refused.
Shah, a grains dealer, and others went to make a presentation to the police that it was not their job to lift the stones on the road.
J S Makwana, police sub-inspector of the area, said, "There was no altercation. They had come to make a representation and during that he fell down when someone pushed him. He suffered heart attack and died."
However, traders are blaming police department for his death.
Dilip Modi, another trader, said, "He fell due to a shoving during verbal spat with police and suffered heart attack."
The traders in Rajpardi observed bandh to protest Shah's untimely death.
