Sant Rocha Singh College holds inter-college symposium

JAMMU, Feb 10:  Sant Rocha Singh Degree College today held a symposium on the topic Swachh Bharat Abhiyan here at SRS Conference Hall in the college premises.
Student participants of eight colleges from Jammu including GCW Gandhi Nagar, GCW Parade, GGM Science College, Trikuta Degree College, GDC Bishnah and Dogra Degree College participated in the event.
Prof Vishaw Raksha, Programme Coordinator NSS University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. She lauded the participants for showcasing exemplary zest in their prepositions.
Chairman of the College, Dr. Nater Singh expressed hope that with ongoing Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by Government of India days are not far when India will join the club of clean countries of the world. He said people’s cooperation and sincere efforts are the only ingredients required to achieve the target.
Prof HK Kapoor, Director of the College appreciated the enthusiasm of participants and inspired them to take pledge that they will fight against littering and consider every inch of country as their home to ensure that India attains perfect cleanliness.
Earlier, Prof Vinod Saini accorded warm welcome to the chief guest by presenting her a bouquet.
Prof Shalini Sharma from MBS College of Engineering and Technology and Dr. Rajeev Gupta Programme Officer NSS GMC Jammu were the adjudicators for the event.
Afshan Farooq of BA Semester-IV from GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged the first prize, while Nitasha Singh Bali of BA Semester-IV from the same college and Reebu Gupta of BSc Semester-II from the host college secured second and third prizes respectively. One appreciation prize was given to Shivata Sapru of GCW Parade.
Programme Officer of the College, Randhir Singh presented the vote of thanks while Kamandeep Kour student of BBA Semester-IV conducted the proceedings.
