TBC Corp. has secured a new location in Fayette County, Tenn., where it will relocate its Memphis distribution center operations.
Panattoni Development Co. is leasing a 1.5 million-square-foot warehouse located in the Gateway Global Logistic Center to TBC, which the company will begin renovating as soon as possible, TBC said.
The Fayette County warehouse will be transformed into a state-of-the-art facility modeled after TBC’s facility in Summerville, S.C., and the company plans to move to the new facility at the end of 2016.
“After extensive evaluation and consideration of the livelihoods of our associates and a strategic evaluation of our future plans as a 60-year-old organization that is thriving, we made the decision that Fayette County will be the home of our new state-of-the-art warehouse,” said Erik R. Olsen, president, CEO and chairman for TBC Corp. “The enhancements to the facility will positively impact the efficiency and, ultimately, the effectiveness of our associates allowing us to better serve our customers while making the lives of our associates easier.”
The new warehouse will feature workflow enhancements for the nearly 120 employees working at the warehouse and have easy access to Highway 72, Highway 32, Interstate 385 and Interstate 269, TBC said.
Employees at the Memphis location will all be offered their same positions at the new warehouse.
