Urdu University students ring opening bell at BSE

Mumbai: Forty-four postgraduate students of commerce and business management of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, rang the opening bell at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Wednesday.
They are on a four-day study tour in Mumbai, and will also visit the Reserve Bank of India, Exim Bank, Reliance and Valuable Group.
Ashish Kumar Chauhan, managing director and CEO of BSE, and Zafar Sareshwalla, chancellor of MANUU, were present at Wednesday's ceremony.

Interacting with the students, Chauhan claimed that India is the best performing market currently, and that BSE is the world’s foremost stock exchange with around 5,400 companies trading. He advised them to carefully study a particular company and stock before investing and not to depend merely on market tips.
Sareshwalla said that after assuming charge at MANUU a year ago, he had decided to enable students of commerce and business management to understand the working of banking and financial institutions, capital markets and industry houses. He further said ta'leem (education) and exposure is the key to success.

“I have been trying to establish a link between MANUU and the corporate world. We have signed MoUs withwell-known companies to offer training, skill development and employability to MANUU’s students. They have offered placements to 187 students," Sareshwalla said
MANUU is a Central University established to grant vocational and technical education in Urdu through conventional and distance education. The headquarters at Gachibowli, Hyderabad is spread over a 200-acre campus. The students and staff come from all parts of India.
