Lecturer harassed for objection on Godse praising: HC issues notice to college authorities

Jaipur, Feb 10 (UNI) Rajasthan High Court today issued notices to the Principal Secretary of Higher Education, Commissioner of College Education and the Director of College Education for harassing a college lecturer after he objected to a Whatsapp post, which denigrated Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and praised his assassin Nathuram Godse.
Counsel for the petitioner Sanjay Sharma said the victim Firoj Akhtar, was a lecturer in Sociology department and posted in Rameshwari Devi Government PG College, Bharatpur.
During this period, he was a member of Whatsapp group of lecturers of the college, where one of the members posted a comment against Mahatma Gandhi and hailed Naturam Godse as a hero. Mr Akhtar objected to the post and requested the members not to post such comments against the Father of the Nation.
