ALLAHABAD: We are considering establishing a training university for teachers, said Minister of State for HRD, Ram Shankar Katheria. This is being thought after a meeting held with top academicians with the government wherein many steps, including the need of setting up such a dedicated training university in different states, were suggested.
The minister was speaking at a function held at senate hall of Allahabad University, on Wednesday.
On the new education policy being framed, he said that 30,000 suggestions have come from the people following centre’s effort to get feedback from society and now all these suggestions are being looked into. We will soon come out with the new education policy before the people of India.
On the issue of reservation in private sector, Katheria, said that it is being considered by the government and the final decision will be taken after consulting all the stake holders.
On the issue of death of Rohit Vemula in Heydrabad, he said that it was unfortunate and some political parties are unnecessarily giving it a cast angle.
The minister also said that all the vacant teaching positions of Allahabad University will be filled within a year. “There will be no dearth of funds for AU as central government wants to bring back the glorious days of this important university”, said the minister.
He said that if anyone can take India forward and help it establish as a world leader, it’s the teachers. A society cannot exist or be formed sans teachers and therefore we need the best of the teachers who can strengthen the foundation of the country.
He called upon the youths and said the youths of the country need to dedicate themselves to research that helps the country and the people and all support would be provided to them in this mission.
