No ISIS element in Bangladesh asserts its Home secretary

Agartala, Feb 10 (UNI) Bangladesh Home Secretary Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan today re-affirmed that no ISIS element is operating from his country but some misguided youths are involved in fundamentalist activities. During his brief visit to Agartala, Mr Khan stated that Bangladesh is not allowing any insurgency activities using it’s soil. The security agencies have been vigilant over such elements in recent development in neighbouring countries. He reiterated that relationship of Bangladesh with India is extremely good, which had never before. The critical issues concerning to both the countries were dealing with utmost sincerity and safe guarding mutual interest. “We are looking for further improvement of the relation with India in all possible sectors,” Khan stated. Khan asserted that policy of Bangladesh government is 'zero tolerance' towards drug menaces, human trafficking and other border crimes and some unauthorised trespassing along the India-Bangladesh border, which is being jointly dealt with by the border guards of two countries. He came here via Delhi this morning along with two other diplomats to oversee the arrangement of installation of Machine Readable Passport (MRP) and Machine Readable Visa (MRV), which has now become mandatory after scraping of handwritten visa regime last year.
