Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Feb 10 2016 3:40PM Angry villagers close down two open cast coal projectsTalcher, Feb 10 (UNI) Two mega open cast coal projects producing about 70,000 tonnes of coal per day were shut down due to stir by the villagers demanding a rehabilitation site. Hundreds of villagers of Rakus stormed into the Bhratapur and Jagannath coal mines here yesterday and stopped all operations. The villagers demanded that they be shifted to their new resettlement site as their village had already been acquired and all benefits given to them. The colliery officials said a new site for their resettlement had been fixed at Boulpur nearby but the adjacent villagers of Natada had opposed the resettlement.
