Cork Independent candidate channels Bruce Springsteen in latest campaign tune

Cork North West candidate Jerry O’Sullivan keeps it country with 'Road Song', which seems to outline some of the main points in his manifesto, while also channeling the Boss Bruce Springsteen.

Two of the main points outlined in his song are the state of rural Irish roads and counteracting flooding and developing strategy to avoid future damage.

"This Election period is short and I apologise now that I may not have time to meet you. I believe this video tells you a little about me and my position on issues facing us all," the candidate writes.

"I ask for your support on Election Day - Your Vote Matters - and is important for our future here in Cork North West."

Jerry also mentions that he composed and performed his tune, with the help of a  driver, sound recorder, guitarist, video compiler and even a bagpiper who comes in at the end of the clip.

Mr O'Sullivan's song is not the first one to catch our attention so far this election season.

Michael Healy Rae's upbeat country tune has already proven popular, while Independent Donegal candidate Tim Jackson's Johnny Cash-inspired tune also got us talking.
