Adamson shocks Ateneo, FEU sweeps UE in UAAP Men’s Volleyball

Adamson University sent Ateneo reeling to its first loss in the UAAP Season 78’s Men’s Volleyball Tournament with a thrilling five-setter win 25-19, 17-22, 22-25, 26-24, 15-13 Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.

It was the Blue Eagles’ first loss of the season and the defending champions are now tied with the Falcons and Far Eastern University at 2-1.

Far Eastern University, meanwhile, took a different approach in handling University of the Easy with a three-set sweep 25-18, 25-22, 25-21, and joined the Blue Eagles and the Falcons at the second seed.

It was a four-pronged attack for the Falcons with Dave Pletado leading the fray with 17 points, Bryan Saraza and Michael Sudaria adding 12 points apiece and Nico Ramirez pitching in 10.

Reigning MVP Marck Espejo led Ateneo with 27 points while Ysay Marasigan added 16.

Joshua Villaueva and Rex Intal also finished with double figures for the Blue Eagles, converting 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Joshua Barrica led the Tamaraws with 10 points while Edward Camposano put up 10 points for the 0-2 Red Warriors.
