SBS 2 Snags Stan’s John Beohm To Become Channel Manager For TV And Online

SBS has nabbed John Beohm from Stan to appoint him as SBS 2 channel manager in the television and online content division.

Beohm is currently the senior programming and editorial manager at Stan, and will join SBS 2 to head up the editorial and strategic leads, ensuring the channel continues with its distinctive positioning in the market.

Beohm will report to SBS head of network programming Peter Andrews.

“I’m honoured to be joining such a unique network and to be leading SBS 2 to deliver even higher quality and more distinctive content and ensure we maintain SBS 2’s clear sense of identity in an ever changing media landscape,” Beohm said.

Beohm brings to SBS an impressive track record in programming and content strategy with six years at BBC Worldwide Australia with multiple roles including programmer for BBC HD, CBeebies, BBC Knowledge and BBC iPlayer.

He joined Stan in 2014 and was responsible for programming and editorial strategy and leading the day-to-day management of the scheduling, operations and social media teams. Prior to that John started his career in 2006 as programming coordinator at Prime Television.

“I am delighted to welcome John to SBS. John brings with him an incredible wealth of experience as a channel manager across linear and video on demand platforms. His keen passion for content and understanding of the industry will play a key part in the continued growth of SBS 2,” Andrews said.

Beohm commences his role on 22 February.
