Dr Abdul Shakoor Bhatti, Business Editor, The Nation, Lahore, died of cancer yesterday. He was 55. He remained under treatment for about a year.
The deceased was life member of Lahore Press Club and Executive Member of Desk Editors Forum. He was laid to rest at a local graveyard. A large number of journalists and his relatives attended the funeral prayers.
Dr Bhatti is survived by a widow, two sons and three daughters. The Nation and Nawa-i-Waqt staff offered heartfelt grief and sorrow over his death.
They prayed for fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this great loss. Quran Khawani for the departed soul will be held today at 10 am at Masjid Usman, B-I, China Scheme, Lahore.
