Shipping Agent Committed To Serve

Trade Pacific Shipping Agency Limited managing director Richard Chow said they are committed to serve the people of Tuvalu.

“I’d like to thank the Department of Ports and Marine Tuvalu for their confidence in appointing Trade Pacific Shipping as their shipping agent in Fiji since 2010,” Mr Chow said.

“The shipping industry in Fiji has grown during the last five years brining about many challenges to the shipping agents. However, we’ve made all efforts to deliver the best regardless of any unforeseen circumstances.”

He pointed out the addition of the MV Nivaga III beings the beginning of a new era for Tuvalu’s Maritime industry in terms of providing services to its people. The vessel’s bigger passenger and cargo capacity will further accommodate to satisfy the ever increasing needs of the users. It will enhance the government’s ability to provide further regular transportation more efficiently.

“Being the sole agent of all the Tuvalu government vessels it increases our responsibility as the fleet grows and let me assure you that Team Trade Pacific is competent enough to explore its boundaries to provide the best possible services available,” he added.

Meanwhile, the MV Nivaga III is a vehicle to boost trading between Tuvalu and Rotuma.

This was the sentiment of the country’s Roving Pacific Ambassador Litia Mawi who indicated that the Fijian Government has co-partnered with the Government of Tuvalu on the Tuvalu/ Rotuma trade.

“Since the signing of the MOA in 2014 there has been one trial run completed and the second one is scheduled for April this year. This vessel Nivaga III would further boost the trade arrangements under that project,” she added.
