DEHRADUN: BDM, Delhi, beat Vanquish Cricket Club, Meerut, by 50 runs in an opening match of the 8th All-India Shaheed Girish Bhadri Cricket Tournament played at the Rangers Ground today.

Dehradun, February 9

BDM, Delhi, beat Vanquish Cricket Club, Meerut, by 50 runs in an opening match of the 8th All-India Shaheed Girish Bhadri Cricket Tournament played at the Rangers Ground today.

Gaurav Gambhir of Delhi showed an outstanding performance by scoring 50 runs and picking 8 wickets. Earlier in the match, Delhi elected to bat first after winning the toss and set the total of 218 runs in 35 overs. Amit Yadav scored the highest 52 runs for the team. While chasing the target, Meerut team got all out in 168 runs and lost the match.

In another match of the day, Wood Hill Blasters beat Dev Bhoomi Club by 28 runs. Batting first, Wood Hill Blasters scored 194 runs. In reply, Dev Bhoomi Club got all out in 166 runs. Akash scored 55 runs, whereas Amardeep took 3 wickets for the Wood Hill team.

The tournament was inaugurated by Prithvi Raj Chauhan, city president of the Congress party.
