This is usually conducted in the Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala on Tuesdays. This ritual was first introduced in the Tirumala temple in 1984 marking the Golden Jubilee Year of TTD, when a Muslim Devotee offered to Lord Srinivasa 108 gold lotuses. Later it became an 'Arjitha Seva'. This was replicated in the model temple of Lord Venkateswara in Hyderabad. The priests commenced the worship by offering 'Dhupa'(Arti stick) and 'Dipa' (lamp) to the main deity. Then they recited the 108 divine names of Lord Venkateswara. Please log in to get detailed story.Tags: #Devotees throng to witness Astadala Seva
