Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi to host events featuring German institutions

The German House for Research and Innovation — DWIH New Delhi — is organising information sessions on “German Higher Education and Research Opportunities” in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi from February 10 to 13.

A press note issued here said in the four-day event, higher education and research institutions from Germany will offer information about their courses and provide an overview of their role in promoting science and research in Germany.

The representatives of these institutions will interact with faculty members and prospective students and address their queries so as to help them make the best possible decisions about their research careers.

Headed by Alexander P. Hansen, Chairman of the Board of DWIH New Delhi, the German delegation will have participation from leading universities, research institutes and funding organisations including German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Freie Universität Berlin, Heidelberg Centre South Asia (HCSA), University of Göttingen, Technical University of Munich (TUM), Max-Planck Gesellschaft (MPG) and German Research Foundation (DFG).

Representatives of these German organisations will conduct info sessions to address students of master’s programmes, PhDs, post-doctoral candidates and faculty members at Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat); Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala University (Karyavattam campus) as well as IISER, Thiruvananthapuram.

There will be a panel discussion with the German delegation on research and social experience in Germany at Goethe-Zentrum here.
