IFR success collective effort, says city BJP chief

Hailing the IFR as a resounding success, BJP city president M. Nagendra said the State and the Central governments, the police, the district administration and the Municipal Corporation have made a joint effort to make it possible.

GVMC has made improved the city by laying new roads and constructing new drains and raising greenery and flowering plants, Mr. Nagendra told reporters here on Monday.

District administration had spared no effort and worked in coordination with the Navy.

The Central government had spent crores of rupees of funds on dressing ships, hosting the foreigners etc, he said thanking the government on behalf of the people of the city. The Prime Minister, the President, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and several VVIPs had witnessed the operational demonstration, Mr Nagendra said.
