Students of the 1966 batch of Suburban High School take a trip down memory lane. Suburban High School organised a reunion for the 1966 batch at the school premises and students from all parts of the world were invited for it.
Teachers honoured
The function began with the school’s Flag song composed in the year 1961 which was followed by Guru Manthiram to teachers by the students. They were blessed by six of their old teachers, Sri. C.H. Rangothama Rao, Sri. S. Ramachandran, Sri. Ramachandra Rao, Sri Ramalingam, Sri Ramamoorthy and Mrs. Thangam, who participated in the function. They were honoured amidst a standing ovation with a shawl and a purse containing Rs. 25,000 each.
Some of the old students included Sri. K.S. Sripathy, former Chief Secretary of Government of Tamil Nadu, Dr. Venkatramani, Army Medical Officer, Dr. M.S. Seshadri, World Renowned Endocrinologist and Mariappan, Retired SBI Officer shared their memories of the past.
Many dignitaries from Ram Nagar such as N.V. Nagasubramaniam, Prithvi, V. Krishnakumar, Ramani Shankar, Mohan Shankar and K.R. Shankaran, spoke at great length about the tradition, discipline and good teaching the school had imparted for the last 100 years.
