Shilpa Shetty, Ness Wadia come together to flag off hospital event

    Synopsis

Shilpa Shetty and Ness Wadia are old friends, but they also have a rocky IPL connection in common.

They're old friends but also have a rocky IPL connection in common. Ness Wadia, co-owner of the Kings XI Punjab, was accused of manhandling and abusing fellow team-head Preity Zinta during a match in 2014. Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty Kundra gave up her stake in the suspended team Rajasthan Royals in 2015 after the Supreme Court banned her husband Raj Kundra from the tournament for life. The two came together to flag off a Wadia Hospital event on Sunday in Mumbai, and going by their sunny vibe, the sticky topic of the IPL was far from their minds.

We're glad that the past didn't shadow the event — after all, when the whole fracas with Zinta broke out, Shetty was the only team owner to comment on the issue and come out in support of the Bollywood star. "I know Preity and Ness personally, but I love Preity and I hope for her sake, things are resolved amicably. Matters flare up when tempers are high and people usually do things they would otherwise not," Shetty told ETPanache at the time. "It's important to think things out calmly. But now, I stand by Preity completely. No one has the right to overstep their mark and misbehave with a woman." Well, you know what they say about bygones.
