TEDx talks dwell on start-ups

The TEDxIIT Hyderabad event, conceptualised by the student community of IIT Hyderabad, threw up some interesting information on start-ups and the issues related to the ecosystem and the need to give them a right direction.

Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (ITE&C) Department, Government of Telangana impressed upon the need to embrace the start-up world. He said the government will ultimately become the consumer for the services of the start-ups and a potential market will be created.

Vennela Krishna, a law student, said that as a start-up, they were not afraid to create opportunities. Seniors create the platform while youngsters form the support system, he said. Another youngster Rajesh, in his talk, reiterated the fact that people would call you smart if you are different for too long.

Anuj, a student, stole the show and recharged the audience with his talk by saying one always has a choice, all you have is now, and be all you can. Vishal Rao, a medical specialist, said that today as doctors they were inventing solutions for diseases. He said a speaking device for throat cancer patients was invented at one dollar which is affordable to all. Ramesh Loganathan, Managing Director, Progress Softwares, advised wannabe entrepreneurs to create a strong ecosystem.
