Driver found dead, vehicle missing

Ganjam: Two miscreants allegedly made away with a vehicle after killing driver R Sunil Reddy, 25, in Ganjam district. Police recovered the body under a culvert near Humma on Sunday.
Identifying themselves as government employees, the accused on Saturday hired the vehicle for Digapahandi. They asked Reddy to drive them to Humma for collecting some official documents.When he did not return home at night, his family members lodged a missing complaint at Digapahandi police station, sources said.
Police suspect the miscreants stoned Reddy to death before decamping with the vehicle. "After verifying footages of CCTV cameras at different toll gates, we came to know that the vehicle had passed through Bhejiput and Jankia," said SDPO (Chhatrapur) Patitapaban Choudhary. Teams have been formed to trace the missing vehicle and nab the culprits, the SDPO said.
