A 22-year-old youth was murdered by two of his former friends in connection with previous enmity on Sunday morning.Injuries were found on his forehead and ribs.

Coimbatore: A 22-year-old youth was murdered by two of his former friends in connection with previous enmity on Sunday morning. Injuries were found on his forehead and ribs. According to police, one of the accused was in love with the victim's sister but the deceased did not approve of this relationship which led to murder.
The deceased was identified as V Kanna alias Rajkumar, 22, of Sathy Nagar near Arasur.
He was working at a private company at Pappampatti Pirivu. Around 9pm on Saturday, he was drinking alcohol with his friend Anilkumar at Kovilpalayam. Rajkumar got a call from his friend B Prabhu alias Prabhakaran, 26, a motorcycle mechanic from Vellamadai, and the duo got into an argument. Around 10.30pm, Rajkumar dropped his friend Anilkumar home. When he didn't return home, Anilkumar went to look for him and found his bloodied body. The post-mortem report revealed that Rajkumar was murdered.Police detained Prabhu and his friend S Bhuvaneswaran, 26 from Vellamadai on Monday night. Police sources claimed that Prabhu was in love with Rajkumar's elder sister. But he married another woman who had separated from him few months ago. So, Prabhu approached the victim's sister for marriage. Rajkumar refused to allow for this and Prabhu got angry over Rajkumar.
Prabhu and his friend Vigneshwaran allegedly murdered him and dumped the body on the road side. tnnKovilpalayam police altered the case to 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code from 174 CrPC on Monday and further investigation is on.
