Coimbatore: Coimbatore gets 43 new buses added to the fleet of the Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation on Monday.
The buses are part of 93 buses that have been allotted for Coimbatore, Erode, Ooty and Tirupur disricts by the state government. A TNSTC official said that nine of these buses would ply within city limits while 34 would be operated on mofussil routes.
"Out of the 93 buses, Coimbatore division has been allotted 43 buses, while Udhagamandalam has got 11, Erode 24 and Tirupur 15 new buses,'' said the official.
The local buses would ply between Gandhipuram - Annur, Railway Station - Press Colony, Railway Station - veerapandi, Somanur - Gandhipuram, ESI Hospital - Chenniagoundanputhur, Ukkadam - Somanur and Gandhipuram - Somanar.
In the mofussil stretch, the new buses would be operated from Coimbatore to various destinations including Palakkad, Tiruchendur, Chidambaram, Tirunelveli, Sivakasi, Sayalkudi and Rameswaram.
