Vadodara: The city will witness a show of culture and traditions of the north-eastern states and Sikkim from Wednesday. The four-day event will include both fine and performing arts of these states.
The event 'Octave-2016' will have participants from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura besides Sikkim. It is being organised by the Western Region Cultural Centre (WRCC), Udaipur, in association with the Vadodara district administration, Vadodara Municipal Corporation and city-based Urmi School.
Citizens will be able to enjoy performances without any entry pass or other restrictio- ns. The events will be held at the Sir Sayajirao Nagargruh in Akota. A crafts bazaar has also been set up as part of the event. A group of 12 litterateurs from the state will also participate in and give an insight into the literature of the region. The event is held on a rotational basis in states that are members of WRCC since 2009. Earlier, the event was held at Surat.
