MANSEHRA: The JUI-F central leadership has endorsed the party’s alliance with the PTI and the PPP to form the future district government in Mansehra.

The development came during a party meeting chaired by JUI-F secretary-general and Senate deputy chairman Abdul Ghafoor Haideri here on Sunday night.

JUI-F parliamentary leader in district council Malik Naveed, who was present in the meeting, told reporters that Mr. Haideri had approved the JUI-PTI-PPP alliance proposed for the future district government in case the nazim and naib nazim failed to get fresh vote of confidence from the district council.

He said Mr. Haideri came to Mansehra on a one-day visit to examine the party’s affairs including the proposed JUI-PTI-PPP alliance.

Mr. Malik Naveed said the PML-N led district government had lost the right to stay put over its failure to get the budget approved by the district council with a simple majority vote.

“We are sincerely standing by the PTI and will offer it all moral and legal help in installing a coalition government in the district, which could help the people benefit from the new LG system,” he said.

Earlier, Mr. Haideri visited Oghi and addressed the Ghulam Gaus Hazarvi Conference.

He criticised the Punjab government for banning preaching activities at educational institution and said the move was meant to suppress the basic fundamental rights of the people.

The JUI-F leader said the ban was slapped to please the US.

He said his party was striving for the enforcement of Islamic laws in the country by ballot and that the time was not far when that would happen.

FUNDS RELEASED: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has released non-development funds for village and neighbourhood councils of Mansehra district.

Deputy commissioner Aamir Khattak told village and neighbourhood council nazims during a meeting here on Monday that the government had given Rs500,000 each for 194 village and neighbourhood councils in the district.

He said the money would be used to pay rent of nazim offices and purchase of stationary and furniture for them.

“I have directed the assistant director (local government) to immediately transfer Rs500,000 each in the accounts of village and neighbourhood councils,” he said.

The deputy commissioner said he would issue letters of appointment to over 100 secretaries of village and neighbourhood councils within few days.

RELEASE OF FUNDS SOON: The federal government will soon release Rs620 million for the completion of incomplete work on the Hazara University’s academic blocks.

“The money for the unfinished work will be transferred in the university’s account,” federal minister for Hajj and interfaith harmony Sardar Mohammad Yousuf told Vice-Chancellor Dr Habib Ahmad during a visit to the university here on Monday.

The minster asked the vice-chancellor to ensure the finalisation of the feasibility report for the establishment of a separate campus of the university for women in Jabba.
