Glendale police arrest 14 drivers at checkpoint

Police arrested 14 people—six on suspicion of driving under the influence—during a DUI checkpoint in Glendale Friday night, officials said.

Nearly 1,700 drivers passed through the checkpoint, conducted at Los Feliz Road and Gardena Avenue, according to Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

Of those, 1,424 motorists were stopped and 74 screened for signs of impairment.

During the operation, police reportedly conducted 19 field sobriety tests. Two people were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, while four were arrested on suspicion of drugged driving.

Five drivers were arrested for not having a driver license, while two others were arrested for driving with a suspended license.
