Even as the Delhi government recommended a CBI probe into the death of Devansh, AAP MLA Colonel Devinder Sehrawat wrote to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung seeking the removal of a senior civic body official and a police officer in South Delhi for negligence.
The government took the decision to recommend the probe on the day Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal resumed office after returning from Bengaluru, where he was undergoing treatment.

“The magisterial inquiry has found serious lapses on the part of the school authorities, including the fact that though the school was functioning on January 30, despite it not being a normal working day, there was not a single person to administer medical aid despite a continuous announcement having been made,” said an official.
Meanwhile, in a letter to Jung, Sehrawat urged him to remove Garima Gupta, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) deputy commissioner of Najafgarh Zone, and Prem Nath, DCP (South) from their positions.
Sehrawat alleged criminal neglect on their part had been a contributing factor in the death of two school children in January.
The MLA alleged people working for the SDMC deputy commissioner had been putting pressure on the parents of five-year-old Ankit Kumar who drowned in a septic tank near the toilet at his MCD school on January 27.
Seeking action against the DCP (South), Sehrawat alleged investigation into the death of Devansh “has been meandering with the sole aim of shielding the influential management of the chain of Ryan Schools, as a result, foul play has not been seriously pursued”.
