Will open Design Gallery in Bethlehem Steel building at Pier 70

Restoration HardwareSan Francisco – RH has landed another high-profile site for its expanding collection of Design Galleries.

The retailer many consumers still refer to as Restoration Hardware has leaded the 60,000-square-foot Bethlehem Steel building at Pier 70.

The historic core of Pier 70 is undergoing a massive rehab on eight buildings dating from 1885 that once served as the West Coast headquarters for Union Ironworks and later, Bethlehem Steel. Pier 70 is expected to be open to the public next year.

RH San Francisco, The Gallery at the Historic Bethlehem Steel Building will be situated at Illinois and 20 th Streets. The Classical Revival style building was constructed in 1917 by San Francisco architect Frederick Meyer.

The RH Gallery will span five floors, offering never-before-seen collections of luxury home furnishings in a gallery setting, including a significant presentation of the brand’s latest concept, RH Modern.

“This is a rare opportunity to help render the whole neighborhood more valuable, reenergizing our surroundings and creating a lasting gift to our hometown,” said RH chairman and ceo Gary Friedman.
