TOKYO -- Isuzu Motors' group net profit for the nine months through December fell 3% on the year to 79.6 billion yen ($685 million), the Japanese company said Monday.
The truck business performed solidly, helping Isuzu record growth in operating and pretax profit. But extraordinary losses stemming from liquidation of fixed assets and higher tax expenses hurt the bottom line. Sales rose 5% to 1.41 trillion yen, while operating profit inched up 1% to 124.4 billion yen.
