IN THE LIMELIGHT FOR THE NEW YEAR: With Monday being the start of the new lunar year — the Year of the Fire Monkey — Louis XIII Cognac will host a fashion-savvy crowd with the help of The Hungry Editor’s Benjamin Liong Setiawan at Jue Lan Club. Harold Koda, Peter Som, Joe Zee and JiaJia Fei will be at the family style dinner, made by chef Oscar Toro. Those who wander in what used to be the Limelight will find all kinds of art including paintings by Keith Haring, who used to be a regular with the Club Kids in the West 20th Street den in the Eighties. While astrologers speculate that the Year of the Monkey can bring fast-changing financial results, guests might find extra meaning in the restaurant’s name. Jue Lan means “determined to create change.”
