Bloemfontein – A man was shot dead in front of his horrified family and friends at his home in Thabong, Welkom, Free State police said on Monday.
Sergeant Mamello Mokhuoane said the incident happened on Sunday morning.
"The man was sitting with his friends and family when an unknown man kicked opened the door and allegedly shot [him] once on the neck and fled the scene," she said.
The 34-year-old man was certified dead on the scene. The motive for the killing was unknown.
No arrests had yet been made.
