IRCTC rolls out two ‘Bharat Darshan’ packages for tricity

Giving an opportunity to tricity residents to travel to India’s famous destinations and visit religious and historical monuments, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced the launch of two ‘Bharat Darshan’ special packages.

IRCTC regional office spokesperson said two special packages have been introduced considering demands and budgets of the city residents. The spokesperson said these holiday packages, which will take passengers to various interesting places for 13 to 14 days, is quite economical.

The first package Dakshin Bharat Darshan via Jaipur for south India will start on March 1 at 6am. The package will be of 12 nights and 13 days (March 1 to 13) and will take passengers to Tirupati Balaji, Kamakshi temple, Rameswaram, Ramnath temple, Meenakshi temple, Kanyakumari, Mysuru and Bengaluru. The train will go through Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Delhi Cantt, Rewari, Jaipur, Agra Cantt, Jhansi, Bina and Bhopal. The package will cost Rs 10,790 per head.

The other package Dakshin Darshan with Goa will be from March 31 to April 13. In this 14-day trip, six destinations will be covered, including Goa, Ernakulam, Tiruvanantpuram, Kanyakumari, Rameshwaram and Tirupati. This package will cost Rs 11,620 per head. It comprises sight-seeing of north and south Goa, Chinese fishing net and Alappuzha backwaters (excluding boat ride), Padmanabhaswamy temple, Kanyakumari, Ramanatha Swami temple, Tirupati Balaji temple and a night stay in a dharamshala on the last day.

Both the packages will include confirmed train tickets, sightseeing, accommodation in non-AC dormitories, non-AC road transfers, vegetarian food, besides facilities of security guards, tour escorts and housekeeping.

One of the IRCTC officials Shubham Arya said the bookings for both the packages have already begun through its official website.
