Scotland may have missed out on a place in Euro 2016, but Gordon Strachan will still be taking his team to France this summer.

The French Football Federation has announced that European Championship hosts France will take on Scotland in a friendly international in Metz on Saturday June 4 (8pm kick-off) as part of their preparations for the tournament.

Didier Deschamps' team will also play Cameroon in Nantes on Monday May 30 ahead of Euro 2016, which will take place from June 10-July 10.

France have been drawn in Group A alongside Albania, Romania and Switzerland.

Their next match is a friendly against the Netherlands, who also failed to qualify for the tournament, in Amsterdam on March 25.

Last month Scotland confirmed March friendlies against the Czech Republic away and Denmark at home as preparations begin for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers which start in September.

Scotland will play another friendly away from home before the France game, with their opponents and venue still to be confirmed, although it is unlikely to be in France.
