Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Feb 8 2016 4:41PM Mega Cancer detection camp to be organised in Thane in MarchThane, Feb 8 (UNI) A mega Cancer detection camp has been organized in Thane district during the month of March, in which all the 33 PHCs will be covered it was stated here today. DHO Dr B S Sonawane of the Thane District Zilla Parishad today told UNI that, it was last year a pilot project of detection and treatment was undertaken in 5 PHCs of Sahapur, Bhiwandi and Murbad and following the results of the same this year it has been decided to cover the entire district of which 18 are the PHCs in the tribal belt and 15 in the non tribal belt. He said the camp was held with the assistance of the Indian Cancer Society (ICS) in which as many as 800 persons mostly tribals were examined of whom around 10 were detected to be suffering from cancer and are presently being treated.Please log in to get detailed story.Tags: #Mega Cancer detection camp to be organised in Thane in March
