Naga Police officer gets Army chief’s commendation

Kohima, Feb 08 (UNI) In a first of its kind, a police officer from Peren District of Nagaland received Army Chief’s Commendation on the eve of Army Day, 2016, which was first ever in the country.
According to a statement, the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR-North) today said P R Zeliang, Sub Inspector of Nagaland Police from Peren District was awarded with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Commendation in recognition to his dedication to duty and commitment to wipe out evils, which obstruct the development of Nagaland.
The police officer was awarded the Commendation Card for an operation, along with Assam Rifles, which led to the apprehension of a dreaded UG cadre and recovery of large quality of explosives and war like stores.
