Uzbekistan created 9,700 hectares of intensive gardens

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan created 9,700 hectares of intensive gardens and 9,200 hectares of vineyards in 2015, the Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan said.
The country created greenhouses at 444 hectares. Some 12,300 hectares of gardens and 7,500 hectares of vineyards were reconstructed as well.
Uzbekistan launched 110 new cold stores with the capacity of 76,500 tonnes and modernized cold stores with the capacity of 41,350 tonnes in 2015. The cold stores are used to store fruits and vegetables.
In the result, Uzbekistan produced 3.361 million tonnes of raw cotton in 2015, 8.176 million tonnes of grain crops, 10.128 million tonnes of vegetables, 2.696 million tonnes of potatoes, 1.853 million tonnes of melons, 2.746 million tonnes of fruits and berries, 1.579 million tonnes of grapes.
Number of cattle has reached more than 11.6 million heads. Uzbekistan produced 2.033 million tons of meat, 9.028 million tonnes of milk and 5.526 billion eggs.
