Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Feb 8 2016 12:24PM Spices Board trains Tripura farmers on advance productionAgartala, Feb 8 (UNI) Around 50 farmers from key spice growing areas of Tripura have been given training in advanced and sustainable spice production technologies by the Spices Board today at Agartala to impart skills and update farmers on the latest technologies for improving productivity ginger, turmeric and pepper. Spices Board officials informed that prospect of growing tree as well as seed spices in Tripura, and the need for group dynamism for better functioning of Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs), pest and disease management, post-harvest value-addition and the various schemes available for spice farmers were covered in the various sessions. Spices growers from major ginger and turmeric belts in South Tripura, Gomati and West Tripura districts took part in the programme.
