MMK members protest

February 08, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - CHENNAI:

Members of Manithaneya Makkal Katchi took part in a massive demonstration in the city on Sunday.

The protest, staged near the State guest house on Wallajah Road, was held in support of their demand to the State government to release life convicts like Abutahir and Perarivalan among others, who have spent several years in prison.

They said the State Government should invoke Article 161 of the Constitution and release them on the occasion of the birth centenary of former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran.
