Haryana girls, featuring Priyanka Gandhi’s daughter Miraya Vadra, finished their campaign ranking eighth after the classification games for girls ended here on Sunday at the Arise Steel 42nd Sub-Junior National Basketball Championship.

The Haryana team lost both their matches — against Karnataka 46-30 and Kerala 52-36 — during the playoffs for the fifth to eighth places.

Chhattisgarh boys and girls teams have reached the final scheduled for Monday.

In the girls section, Chhattisgarh, who were last year’s runners up, face off against Tamil Nadu while Chhattisgarh boys lock horns with Madhya Pradesh. Ms. Priyanka and her daughter Miraya Vadra have been put up at a tightly guarded private hotel, and are expected to return to Delhi on Monday or Tuesday.
