Lucknow: The common refrain of most visitors on entering the Lucknow Metro stall at Lucknow Mohatsava is: 'Kya yeh mere ghar ke paas se chalegi?' Looking at the fancy model of a metro rail station and trying to spot their locality on the metro route map, everyone wondered how far they will have to go to catch.
From questions related to dos and don'ts during a metro journey to details about metro stations and other information about feeder service and connectivity, people of all age groups and spheres came up with innumerable doubts showing their curiosity for the upcoming metro rail service in the city.

"Can we book in advance at this stall if we want a metro ride," asked Reshma, a 40-year-old house wife who visited with her family. As soon as she saw the showcased model she turned back to her husband asking, "Is it a bullet train? Will it take only a few minutes to ferry us from Gomtinagar to Old city?"
Retired government servant R Mishra asked one of the metro employees if public will be allowed to carry more than 5kg luggage in metro. "Will there be a pass-system as we have in intercity local trains." he asked.
Dr Rajiv Kumar inquired about dustbins and spittoons. "A big population of Lucknow eats paan/masala, so spittoons must be places at several places at the stations and coaches, to keep the walls and floors of the new stations clean," he said.
Examining the model train, college-goer Astha Sharma whispered to her friend, "Will there be toilets in the train.?" Amused at her question. her friend replied, "Toilets will be at the stations not in the train."

Similar and several other interesting thoughts were articulated when Lucknowites got a chance to know the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) from close quarters. Taking selfies with a backdrop of huge posters displaying information and pictures of ongoing metro work and keenly looking at animated videos showing metro ride, the stall has made city acquainted to the project.
Youngsters visiting the stall also aked about connecting feeder services and the stations being built underground. City jeweller Hrishik Gupta asked, "Will there be an underground metro station in Hazratganj? "
Mostly people were eager to know when the metro will start running tin the city and what areas will be covered under priority corridors. LMRC employee Naman at the stall said, "Since morning I have told hundreds of people that trial run will happen in December and the train will start functioning full-fledged in 2017."
There were some who expressed skepticism saying the model will never turn into reality. 'I doubt this project will ever complete," said Sushma Awasthi, a teacher from the city.
