Amma micro finance loans distributed

Madurai: Cooperative Minister Sellur K Raju distributed Amma micro finance to traders and welfare measures to beneficiaries, at the Madurai District Central Cooperative Bank on Saturday.
Around 100 traders received micro finance of Rs5,000 while two farmers under personal accident insurance scheme received Rs50,000 and two of the kin of bank employees who died while on duty received job orders under mercy grounds.
Addressing the function, the minister said that the state government conducted 7,076 special camps and collected 4,47,787 applicants for Amma micro finance. Among them 93,780 beneficiaries received the finance to the tune of Rs 46.94 crore.
In Madurai district, 372 such camps were held and 14,845 applications were received. Among them, micro finance was given to 3,912 applicants through 32 branches of the Madurai District Central Cooperative Bank and four urban cooperatives banks at Usilampatti, Sholavandan, Melur and Thirumangalam.
