Three members of a family suffered injuries due to leakage in LPG cylinder which resulted in fire break-out in a residential area at Wagle Estate on Saturday morning at 8.30.

The victims were rushed to Thane civil hospital. One of them is a minor girl who had come from a village a month back for further studies. The 13-year-old suffered 60% burns, while the other two Ved Tiwari, 22, suffered 18% and Nilesh Choube suffered 25% burns.

"One of the victims was about to cook food when there was an explosion. The neighbours informed the police and disaster management cell and the fire was brought under control," said an officer.

An official said, "No case has bene registered yet any the victims have not blamed anyone. Their parents were at the village and have been informed about the incident. The minor girl went to cook food while her brothers were asleep."

A disaster management cell officer said, "We suspect the girl must have mistakenly left the burner on or there was leakage in gas pipe."
