Call off fast, KE urges Mudragada

February 07, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy has requested the Kapunadu leader Mudragada Padmanabham to call off his indefinite fast as the government is committed to providing reservations to Kapus without hurting the interests of the Backward Classes.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had already set the process in motion by appointing a committee and to implement the assurance given to Kapus in the election manifesto. Anything has to be done as per the procedure and keeping this in mind, the Kapunadu leader should call off his fast that entered the second day on Saturday. On the setback to the TDP-BJP combine in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, Mr. Krishnamurthy said that it was natural to win sometimes and lose at other times in politics. He pointed out that BJP had lost in Delhi though it was in power at the Centre. There was no need to feel disappointed that the TDP gained only one seat in the GHMC elections and the party would recover from the debacle and emerge stronger in the GHMC area in the future, he said.
