Jubilee leaders from Western have asked the Opposition to be ready for defeat in the coming General Election.

Led by Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, the leaders asked the local community to support Jubilee because it will deliver on its election promises.

Former Minister Noah Wekesa said he was in the Opposition during the 2013 polls but he cannot make the same mistake. Wekesa who is Jubilee Party of Kenya (JPK) steering committee co-chair, said the party, to be unveiled in March this year, will clinch power in the next polls.

Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony for Wanga University College of Science and Technology at Lubinu, Mumias East, he dismissed allegations that JPK is being formed to serve 2017 interests only to be dissolved after the elections.

"Seven parties have already submitted their resolutions to be dissolved to form the new outfit Jubilee Party of Kenya," said Wekesa.

He said no Kenyan will be coaxed to join the party promising that the party will start grass root meetings to popularize it ahead of 2017 polls.

"Nobody will be given direct nomination certificates because we are determined to strengthen the party at grass roots level. We will not force anybody to join the party," he said.

At the same time, Wamalwa said he does not need to seek permission from Senator Moses Wetang'ula (Bungoma) and Boni Khalwale (Kakamega) before visiting the region.
